HOW OUR U5 PROGRAM WORKS This is instructional, so there is no goalkeeper and there are no throw-ins. The objective is to learn to control the ball while dribbling it, etc. The emphasis is on having FUN!! Only one coach from each team is allowed on the field. There are 8 to 9 players on a team (you may request to be placed on a team with friends or same sex siblings, we do our best to accommodate, only in U5’s) They play on very small fields, with very small goals. Games are played 4 v 4, with no goalie The coach is on the field with his/her players They practice once a week on Saturdays, with U.K. Elite soccer trainers and the coach, which the club supplies, for one hour They play their games on Sundays, usually between 9a.m.to 12p.m. They play 3 mini games of 12 minutes each. There is no score keeping and no standings Each child plays 1/2 a game, no exceptions It is an eight week season Everyone receives a participation trophy. Equipment needed: a #3 soccer ball.
U6 PROGRAM: The U6 program plays 6v6 players with five field players and a goalie on a slightly bigger field than the U5s. It is still instructional, introducing the goalkeeper, throw-in, indirect kicks, goal kick and corner kicks. OFF SIDES will be called only if child is goal hanging. There are no direct kicks. One coach from each team allowed on the field of play. Do not go into the 18 area, except to set the ball down for a goal or corner kick. On throw ins, player has two chances. When a player is substituted, the center referee should be told first. All substitutions are done when it is your team's throw-in, either team's goal kick, and at kick off. If a child is tired, the referee should be informed, and they will then allow a substitution. Parents should stay off the field of play and when watching the game, to stay away from the goal area and away from the 18 yard area. There is no score keeping and no standings. There are 4 U.K.Elite training sessions during the season. Coaches hold their own practices and games are four 8 minute quarters.
U7 PROGRAM: The U7 program plays 7v7 games with a goalie and on a bigger field. They keep score but no standings. The coach is no longer on the field but on the sidelines. There are 4 U.K.Elite training sessions during season; games are four 10 minute quarters.
