· I am a coach in the U5 division. Are there trophies for the kids for first, second and third places, and when do we get them? Is it possible to keep the same team together for the next season?
All recreation players receive participation awards. From U5 - U10 no scroes are kept since the emphasis is on development, not winning.
Teams are not kept together for the following seasons. Some players leave the system, new players come in, coaches change, and age groups may get combined depending on enrollment. Accordingly, after each season the coaches rate their players and the information is entered into a computer so when the teams are created the next season the scoring ensures that the new teams are as even as possible.
Feel free to attend the General Membership meeting of the MSC which is held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Yorktown Social Club on Rt. 527. There you can speak to them in person and get all the club information.

· When do the teams practice?
Soccer practices are held in two ways: We have UK Elite player development, which generally takes place on Saturdays, and at their discretion coaches hold their own practices after school during the week or on Saturdays. How often these discretionary practices are held depends on the age of the children - generally U5 and 6 have only occasional practices, U7, 8 and 9 generally have it weekly, and U10 and up may have it 2x a week.

· Regarding the Tournament Teams, before I decide whether or not my child will try out, can you please advise me on the practice and game schedules if he were to make the team.
The Tournament Teams are for rec players only, and are in addition to the regularly scheduled games. The teams play in 3-4 tournaments, including the Manalapan Funfest. Given the short time frame for training, practice is usually 1-2 times a week.
