IMPORTANT-Sports Concussion Injury Prevention and Management
CARDED COACHES WILL NEED THIS CERTIFICATION FOR FALL 2012

Coaches:

Governor Christie passed a Law on Sports Concussion Injury Prevention and Management back in December 2010 (see attached). If you have coached (or are coaching or know of someone currently coaching) HS Soccer you may have been informed about this and your Board Of Education (BOE) may have required you to take either the National Federation of High Schools Sports Concussion On-Line Training Program OR the Centers for Disease Control On-Line Training Program (see below).

Coaches: Clarification on Field Usage

Coaches:  There is some confusion about where you are allowed to practice and where you are not, so please note the following:
 
* No coaches are permitted to practice with their teams at their homes.  The insurance coverage that the MSC has does NOT cover you if anyone gets hurt;
 
* The Rec Center fields are ONLY to be used if you have a time slot allocated to you.  The use of these fields is to be coordinated ONLY through the Full-Sided Travel VP who then provides practice and scrimmage times in coordination with the Parks and Rec Department;
  
* The fields that can be used for practice are:
 
        - Milford Brook;
        - Clark Mills;
        - Taylor Mills;
        - Lafayette Mills;
        - Apache Road.
        - The lower field at MEMS.
 
Travel Program Information
The MSC runs their travel program in both the fall and spring seasons, with most teams playing in both.  Information on our programs is listed on the left menu.  We currently have teams playing in MOSA, JAGS and MAPS.  (You can click on their graphics below to go to their websites.)
