Coaches Ratings
All recreation coaches are required to attend the end of season Ratings Night on May 20th at the Yorktowne Club. This will take place from 7:30 - 8:30 for girls teams and 8:30 - 9:30 for boys teams. During the time you will sit down with the other coaches in your age group and develop ratings using standardized criteria for each player. These ratings are eventually fed into our computers and used to draft the fall teams, making sure that the new teams are as even as possible. To do so we need clear, honest ratings. A copy of the forms are attached so you can take a look at them in advance, but it is crucial that you attend the session to discuss ratings with the other coaches in your age group.

MSC Scholarships are available
Dear Coaches and Parents,
I would like to take this opportunity to inform you about our club’s Annual College and Training Scholarship Program. Each year our club offers both $500 College scholarships for High School Seniors and $250 training scholarships to High School Freshman-Junior year students. In addition, the Club is also offering 2-$250 Senior Recreation soccer and or Referee scholarships. The program has been allocated $3,000 to give out for these scholarships.
Please take the time to forward this to all your players, family and friends know about this program and encourage as many high school students that qualify to apply. It costs nothing to apply as all it takes is for each applicant to spend a short amount of time to fill out the application and provide a resume highlighting their soccer playing experience from youth to present, services to the club, such as tournament volunteer, refereeing, training, rec coach etc, school awards, activities and community service as well. Also with the application is a grade verification form that the guidance department will fill out and provide proof of the applicants grade average.
Early next week the applications can be found on the Main page of Manalapan Soccer Club Web site under "Scholarships". There are separate applications for each the two Senior & Training scholarships. In the past some years we have received many applications and other years very few. Once again please encourage those players who you know that are in High School to apply. They have nothing to lose! The deadline to get their applications in is May 25, 2008. The awards are presented to the winning applicants at the Clubs General Membership meeting in June.

Remember to only use first names or first names and last initials, mention each player on your team, use only positive comments, and only include the score for U10 and up. -->As there are two games this week for most teams, please make sure to use dates for the game reports.
Coaches - Please remind your players that no jewelry should be worn during the game, except for medical alert purposes. Covering earrings with bandaids is not permitted. This is for the safety of our players, and referees are allowed to remove players wearing jewelry.
Parents - Please pick up a copy of the Goalkeeper newsletter, which is located at the Field Marshall stands.
